Julian Ellacott is the current Chairman of the Conservative Party’s National Convention, the senior body representing the voluntary wing of the Conservative Party. With over 25 years of dedicated service, Julian has held numerous leadership roles at every level of the Party, including Association, Area, Regional, and National positions.
He previously served as a borough councillor in Reigate & Banstead for 19 years, undertaking roles such as Cabinet Member, Deputy Leader, and Deputy Mayor. His long-standing commitment to local government reflects a deep belief in community-led decision-making and practical, responsible leadership.
Professionally, Julian is a qualified actuary and serves as a director at a mutual insurance company based in Bristol. His dedication to public service extends beyond politics, having volunteered with a number of charities and public bodies.
Julian’s leadership is characterised by his grassroots approach. He has made over 130 visits across the country to support campaigning, fundraising, and to engage directly with members and activists.
As Chairman of the Conservative Party’s National Convention, Julian is focused on strengthening the Party’s voluntary structure, boosting member engagement, and ensuring the voices of grassroots Conservatives are heard and valued at every level of the Party.
